On 28 March eight speakers from the African Centre for Coastal Palaeoscience (ACCP) and the Palaeolab presented their research at the very first Palaeosciences Symposium hosted at Nelson Mandela University.

The symposium focused on show casing all the wonderful and exciting research the Palaeolab as well as the rest of the ACCP has been conducting. The speakers had the opportunity to present their work with guest speak – Prof. Jennifer Botha (Genus Interim Director) offering closing remarks and details on funding opportunities provided by Genus. Dr Bongekile Zwane also led the discussions during a mini career session.

The African Centre for Coastal Palaeoscience and the Paleolab would like to congratulate all the speakers on their research and we also would like to make use of the opportunity to thank all who attended.

We will keep you posted on details regarding the next Palaeosciences Symposium.
